We do not have a working website at this time. We will have one in the future. Mountain Air Batik takes pride in creating the finest quality batik t shirts and wall hangings in Portland,Or.
All of our work is from our heads,by our hands(we do not use taps,stamps,stencils or prints in the creation of our batiks) each batik is drawn,waxed,dyed,waxed,boiled and washed by us,no shortcuts.
We do a great amount of custom work for people all over the country,if you have an idea for a custom batik and would like us to make one for you please contact us,THANKS!
What is Batik?
Batik is an ancient process of layering wax and dye to create a picture or design. After the layering is complete we then add one final coat of wax over the picture and dye the garment.Once the desired shade of color for the outside of the garment is reached we rinse the shirt and then boil the wax out of it. It is a labor of love.
