This another wrap around. I chose to show you all the front and the back, the sleeves are done in this fashion as well. I did not like the sleeve photos and I am alone today so I had no model for the sleeves, maybe when it is sold I can take the phots of the sleeves with a person in them. This was sold before I could get a better photo.

Inspired by the "Dia de los Muertos" Idea that the souls of our relatives that have passed make a once a year journey to visit the loved ones that are still alive. You will also see that there are foot prints, faces and Azteca inspired skulls to make up the background of the "altar". The skulls symbolize the death gods. The faces at the top represent passed ancestors, the foot prints show the journey thats made...The candles light their way and the flowers(marigolds, sometimes called the flor muerto or cempasuchitl). Finished in dec 08, sold in dec 08.

This was an undertaking for myself. The hoodie is filled with images and symbols that I am drawn to. Some of these symbols are taken directly from the creators( The Maya and Aztecas, and some of them I have batiked the way I saw them fit into the picture as a whole.I owned this hoodie for about 5 days when I realized that there was a person that loved it more than I could.

This was an undertaking for us. Never have we tried to do a wrap around batik in anything other than wax and t shirts(no colors never on anything as heavy as a hemp sweatshirt)...So we think it needs its own sub page. it was hard to take pictures of. Maybe when she picks it up we can take photos of her wearing it so its not just random angled batik work.
